Overview.
The demand for heat pumps is increasing due to rising energy prices, regulation, and climate targets. At the same time, installation companies face operational challenges: planning is still manual, quoting inconsistent, and customer communication poorly integrated. Workflows are often unstructured and installation times can be up to three times higher than for gas boilers. This leads to higher costs for customers, long installation times and difficulties to schedule spontaneous installs, if a boiler breaks.
Spruce provides a SaaS platform designed specifically for heat pump installers and their workflows — from initial lead qualification and site assessment to quoting and project management. The software helps small and medium-sized companies standardize their processes, reduce overhead, and complete more projects with the same team.
Why we invested.
Despite lower total cost of ownership and a lack of alternative green heating solutions, the adoption of heat pumps is still constrained by execution on the ground. We see a clear operational bottleneck – and Spruce addresses exactly that. The team brings a strong mix of product thinking and industry insight and has built a solution that fits the needs of a fragmented installer market. With the right execution, the product can become a key tool for scaling heat pump deployment across Europe.
