Overview.

Decarbonising residential heating is a major challenge for reaching our net zero targets. Most homes still heat with gas, oil, or coal. Heat pumps are the efficient alternative but installs are a bottleneck. Work requires qualified local crews. Lead intake, scoping, permitting, and procurement are fragmented. Customers need one accountable partner for advice, install, and annual service. Without that, adoption lags.

nuuEnergy combines local heat pump installation with a centralized operating system. Regional hubs handle advice, installation, and annual service, while the central software layer automates much of the operational work behind the scenes. This includes lead handling, quoting with real-time pricing and subsidies, planning, procurement, customer care, and quality control. The result is a more scalable installation model that keeps the benefits of local execution while reducing administrative overhead and complexity.

Why we invested.

Heat pump adoption is no longer mainly constrained by demand, but by execution quality and delivery capacity. Installation quality will matter even more over time, as poor planning, inconsistent workmanship, and weak service can undermine customer trust and slow the market. nuuEnergy addresses that with a model that combines local installation teams with a centralized operating system, allowing the company to keep customer proximity and accountability on the ground while standardizing quoting, procurement, planning, and quality control. In our view, that creates a stronger foundation for a scalable installation business.
