Overview.

Energy costs for SMEs and industrial sites are increasingly volatile. At the same time, many operational processes — such as production, cooling, or heating — create significant but largely unmanaged flexibility. Most facilities still rely on static operating schedules, leaving cost-saving potential untapped and exposing them to price spikes. As renewable penetration increases, the need for dynamic demand-side management is becoming critical for both cost efficiency and grid stability.

encentive’s flexOn platform is an AI-powered energy management system that optimizes a site’s entire demand side. It dynamically coordinates industrial processes — across production as well as supporting systems like cooling and heating — based on real-time conditions. By reducing peak loads and shifting consumption to lower-cost periods, the platform lowers energy costs while unlocking flexibility at the asset level. Over time, this flexibility can also be leveraged in external energy markets as integration capabilities expand.

Why we invested.

Demand-side management is becoming a critical software layer for energy-intensive SMEs. We invested in encentive for its practical, process-level approach and a product already in use across multiple industries. The platform delivers clear ROI per site while creating strong customer lock-in through deep integration into operational processes and data flows, with significant expansion potential through multi-site deployments.
